The project “Lubelskie helps Ukraine – learning Polish” is addressed to adults who, as a result of military operations in Ukraine, legally entered the territory of the Republic of Poland from February 24, 2022. As part of the support offered, 1,800 migrants will be able to voluntarily take part in free language training in Polish.

It is planned to create 150 training groups with a small composition – max. For 12 people. Groups will be created in places where this type of activity is needed, on dates tailored to individual needs, to facilitate access by participants. Classes – depending on preferences – will be conducted in stationary or remote mode. Language training will be conducted by experienced external institutions.

The role of language training will be to provide basic information and skills to communicate in Polish, so as to reduce the difficulties related to the language barrier to refugees. After completing the course, its participants will be able to communicate more easily with the environment in order to meet their needs in everyday situations: in offices, shops, medical facilities, assistance centers, educational institutions for adults and those attended by their children. Acquiring language skills will also contribute to the increase in professional activity of people coming from Ukraine – it will facilitate the search for employment, starting your own business or maintaining an existing job.

Upon completion of the classes, students will receive certificates of completed training and acquired skills.

The project is implemented by the Lublin Province (Department of Culture, Education and National Heritage) from 1 May 2022 to 31 August 2023.

Information about the start of language courses will be available on our website and other media and made available in communes, cities and poviats of the Lubelskie Voivodeship after signing contracts with training companies.
