WHAT WE DO?

WE HELP VISITORS FIND THEIR NEW PLACE ON EARTH IN POLAND

Our mission is to accompany, serve and support people with refugee experience and others forced to resettle. We help them regenerate physically and mentally, gain the education they need and thus be able to decide about their future. The Jesuit Refugee Service Poland Foundation is the Polish branch of the international Catholic organization JRS International, founded in 1980 by Jesuit Father Pedro Arrupe SJ and currently operating in 58 countries around the world. Visitors – we call them international friends – who come to our office can be sure that they will find a safe and friendly atmosphere, scented with warm tea and cookies. In Poznań, the JRS Poland Foundation is under the care of Father Grzegorz Dobroczyński, who says: “We are creating a place for Polish-Ukrainian and ecumenical, Catholic-Orthodox meetings and integration. We are open to meetings of groups of children and youth, joint creation of cultural events and celebration of religious holidays. Our motto is: “It’s good to see you and it’s good that you’re here.”

PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT

We support visitors by offering psychological support. This is aimed at people who have experienced many traumas related to war, violence or persecution (because of race, religion, nationality, political beliefs or membership of a particular social group). Support is provided at the Jesuit Cultural and Development Centre Foundation “Vinea”.

Support hours: Mon-Thu 13:30-16:30
