Support for families in the form of psychological consultation is provided on a task-based basis. Families affected by domestic violence are supported by a specialist with extensive experience in working with victims of violence. Families with childcare problems and families with mental disorders are supported by a psychologist of the Gorzów Family Support Centre.

Forms of work for victims of violence:

• intervention,
• consultation
• individual psychological support with elements of psychotherapy.

Among the topics of meetings and consultations, the basic substantive areas of work for victims of violence can be distinguished. These are:

• stopping the violence,
• building motivation to change,
• overcoming fear of change,
• building self-esteem, responsibility and independence,
• strengthening the capacity for emotional self-regulation,
• improving parenting and interpersonal skills.
