We have been working for refugees who fled the war in Ukraine for almost 3 months now.
What exactly does our action and support consist of?
We take care of a group of over 250 people living in a hotel in Gdańsk.
We have launched a program called ”Friend of Home” in which female volunteers help refugees with all the formalities concerning their stay, getting a valid ID card, enrolling children in school or writing their CVs needed to get a job.
We rent 4 flats in the Tricity area, where over 60 refugees live. Thanks to the support of @wckitchen each person gets 3 meals a day.
Our program ”Friend of Ukrainian family” is developing very dynamically, where female volunteers also provide support in dealing with formalities, but at the same time they make sure that people from Ukraine do not feel lost or lonely here. We can already see how much support this is for people whose lives have changed by 180 degrees in recent weeks.
Several times a week Polish language lessons are held at the hotel, run by our volunteer. People from Ukraine are divided into groups – children and adults, and according to their level of Polish language skills.
We assist refugees from Ukraine in receiving medical and psychological/psychiatric help.
