Since the end of February 2022, the RC Foundation has been actively involved in activities related to supporting refugees from Ukraine. Our activities were multifaceted, but they were always related to what we can do best – animate, educate and integrate. Thanks to establishing cooperation with institutional and business partners, we have launched in-kind assistance in the form of regular “issues” of the most needed products, psychological, formal and legal assistance, Polish language learning and integration and artistic activities.

At the RC Foundation, we have created a safe space for Ukrainian families to meet among themselves, exchange information, support in difficult times, but also get to know their new place of life and integrate with their neighbors. The Ukrainian Library operates in the Foundation. It is the largest collection of Ukrainian literature in Poland, with over 3,000 items. There are nearly 400 people on the reader list. Among the items, the most are literature about the history of Ukraine, classical literature and contemporary Ukrainian writers for children and youth.

Professional activation for refugees from Ukraine July-December 2022 – We have opened individual consultation points dedicated to providing basic information about work in Gdańsk, developing competences in terms of CV writing, the application process and professional recruitment. We encouraged self-education, re-industry and educated in the field of setting up one’s own business. We organized trainings and courses: cosmetology, tailoring, floristry, care for the elderly and disabled, office worker and image building and sales in social media. Since classes in the beauty and tailoring industry enjoyed the greatest interest, we decided to offer basic training and, as a continuation for willing and most promising participants – specialized courses.
