Barka is reciprocity

Concerned about the plight of refugees, we share what we have and immediately experience great kindness.

Responding to needs, we mobilize and create a base of places in our communities, social enterprises and the infrastructure we have at our disposal to accommodate those seeking refuge, fleeing the war-stricken country;

We are currently implementing projects:

1. A project with AmeriCares, an American organization that funded medical support for Ukrainian citizens residing in Poznan for 4 months. As part of this funding, we organized together with the Arabia Association an action called Arab White Apron. On that day 80 people benefited from medical examinations, each person visited min. 3 specialists. In addition, visits to the following were organized: gynecologist, dentist, ophthalmologist, psychologist. A total of more than 500 specialized medical visits.
2. Project with Mercy Corps – a global organization that for 4 months finances social support for Ukrainian citizens residing in Poznan. As part of this funding, we are able to organize the care of a social assistant and a psychologist, as well as cover the cost of local transportation and grocery/chemical vouchers for 100 people most in need of assistance.
3. Project with the Fondatione de France – thanks to the support of the Banque de France, the Fondatione de France organization will finance social support for citizens from Ukraine residing in Poznan. With this support, we can organize the care of a social assistant, psychologist and translator. We will also organize holiday stays for 100 people. We also plan to start a mini-bakery in our Bistro in Zawady. Additional support for citizens from Ukraine will be food and chemical packages for 300 people.
4. Project “Barka Mutual” – thanks to funding from the City of Poznań, in August and September we organize classes for 15 children from Ukraine. Classes are held both at the Barka headquarters and outside in places such as cinemas, swimming pools and amusement parks.
5. Purchase mechanism under the WCES project. In July, more than 50 people have already benefited from the services we purchased from PES, including 25 kids from the semi-college and summer workshops, several people from rehabilitation, and more than 20 participated in a trip.
