The Podkarpackie Hospice for Children Foundation is a specialized organization operating in the Podkarpackie region. It was established in 2006 to provide home care for children and adolescents with cancer and other incurable and progressive diseases. The Foundation has been steadily improving the scope of care for sick children and currently operates in several areas.

Our main form of care is Home Hospice Care. We know that a child, even if terminally ill, feels safest at home, under the care of a close and loving family.

Unfortunately, there are situations when a child cannot stay at home and in order to provide the best care in 2011 we launched Stationary Hospice, which is located at 132 Lwowska St. We can have 35 children under stationary care. These are children who, for health reasons, or other fortuitous reasons, cannot live in their family homes. We provide them with care 24 hours a day, at the same time creating at least a substitute for a home.

In addition, we have launched a Perinatal Hospice to help those families who learn that the baby they are waiting for is terminally or very seriously ill. As part of this hospice, we offer specialized consultations with a doctor, psychological and spiritual care, as well as grief support.

In addition, because of such a difficult situation as the passing of a child, there is a Grieving Parents Support Group at our Foundation. We surround the parents of our wards’ children with care, as well as parents of children outside our Foundation. We offer psychological and spiritual support at every stage of mourning.

As a Foundation, we also run a Regional Care and Therapeutic Facility “Rainbow House”, which currently houses 14 children. They are referred to our facility by the Court, as they are unable to stay in an orphanage or other care facility due to their health condition and degree of disability. We try to the best of our ability to create a substitute for a happy home for them.

For us, the most important thing is the child!
