The Orthodox Church in Poland is in a special situation when it comes to helping refugees from Ukraine. Most of the refugees are faithful to the Orthodox Church, but we help all those applying for help, regardless of their religion and denomination.

At the moment, we are conducting the following activities:

– issuing permanent material assistance, food, clothes, linen and cleaning products. Sending shipments with gifts to Ukraine and to parishes closer to the border with Ukraine where the needs are greater,
– information campaign on the possibility of obtaining help both in ELEOS and other church organizations as well as public units (publication of leaflets, information in churches during services, etc.)
– St. Cyril and Methodius accepted refugee children for primary school education (ELEOS subsidizes education and lunches for students)
– we organize day care centers for younger refugee children in our facilities,
– we cooperate with provincial and local government authorities,
– we recruit volunteers to work in aid centers,
– we organize activities for integration with Polish society, we create and support Polish language learning points for refugees,
– we organize meetings for refugees in parishes where you can eat, talk, get the necessary information and integrate with the local community.
