„Behind the Table” social shops combine food support with social integration. These are places where food saved from waste from grocery stores and supermarkets is distributed to people in difficult life situations. The type of products available in social shops ‘Za Stołem’ depends on current donations. Usually, these are vegetables and fruit, as well as meat, fish, cold cuts, dairy products and ready meals.

Social Shops are intended for people who find themselves in difficult circumstances but are not eligible for support from social welfare centres. These are primarily migrants, as well as other residents of the Tri-City who need emergency assistance.

Information about Social Stores (addresses, rules of operation) can be found at https://bztrojmiasto.pl/jak-dzialamy/#sklepy

The exception is the shop at 4 Aksamitna Street in Gdańsk, which can be used three times per calendar year by any resident of Gdańsk upon presentation of an identity document.

Each person in need is entitled to 2.5 kg of food. In addition, the shop distributes food for people who feed stray cats and for dog owners who have a valid vaccination certificate for their animal.
