W.A.G.E.E.S – Work and gain education & employment skills

AVSI Polska, financed by the Affinity Trust, has launched another project promoting the integration of Ukrainian refugees who came to Poland after the outbreak of war.

As in the case of the previous project, the aim of AVSI Polska’s activities is to support the integration of refugees and their children into the social, economic and educational fabric of Poland. The specific objective of the project is to increase the employment level and work capacity of 100 Ukrainian refugees by providing them with Polish and English language courses, training in soft skills and technical training. An important aspect will also be the provision of psychosocial support and legal assistance.

The project, which will be implemented by the end of this year, also provides training for people planning to open a business in Poland, as well as support for refugee women who intend to open and run kindergartens. Future entrepreneurs who present the best business plans at the end of the training will have a chance to obtain a subsidy from AVSI Polska for the first months of running a business.

We invite you to participate in our project!

What we offer participants:

  • Soft skills training and an intensive Polish language course facilitating integration both at work and in society.
  • Employment in local companies that guarantee a contract for a minimum of 3 months and technical training on specific duties at the new workplace.
  • Psychological and social assistance for women and up to 50 children under their care, providing them with the opportunity to socialize with their Polish peers.
  • Financial support for the costs of childcare, home maintenance, travel costs to a new place of work.

Potential beneficiaries of the project are requested to:

  • show availability to attend all cognitive interviews at the recruitment stage,
after being selected for the project, show their availability to participate in training, especially in learning the Polish language,
  • specify the current place of residence and availability to change in this respect, both as a person commuting to work and for a complete move (e.g. to Warsaw or other large centers offering greater opportunities on the labor market),
  • meet the following minimum requirements: a basic level of knowledge of the Polish language and previous professional experience.
