The Feminoteka Foundation has launched a free application called Safe YOU, designed to enhance safety and empower individuals experiencing violence. Safe YOU is the first mobile application in Poland dedicated to supporting women affected by violence. It offers, among other things, the ability to quickly send an SOS signal with precise location, enabling immediate response from loved ones and services. Users can anonymously and confidentially access free advice or discuss with each other on a moderated forum. The app is available not only in Polish but also in English and Ukrainian, to more effectively reach out to migrants and refugees. Additionally, the option to hide the application—by changing the icon and using a fake PIN—ensures discretion even in situations where the phone is being checked by the perpetrator. As a Digital Public Good, the app undergoes regular audits for security and privacy.
