Extraordinary School run by the Niezwyczajni Foundation is a specialist school with pre-school departments – supporting children with disabilities.
A branch for disabled refugees from Ukraine has been opened inside the Extraordinary School. The school looks after 30 pupils aged 3-17. Most of them are children with autism, Down’s syndrome, genetic defects, intellectual disabilities, motor disabilities, aphasia and various couplings of many diseases.
The Foundation hired 20 employees from Ukraine. Among them there are specialists with the necessary competences for education and therapy with children in such areas as psychology, behavioral therapy, speech therapy and physical rehabilitation. Among the employed teachers there are also parents of students who badly needed work.
Classes are conducted in small groups of five. Children also participate in a variety of development activities, including trips, workshops and meetings with interesting people. The facility works not only for children, but also for their families.
