Specjalistyczna Jednostka Ratownictwa Weterynaryjnego | Specialized Veterinary Rescue Unit (SJRW)
Within hours of the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the SJRW was on full alert and began providing assistance almost immediately.
We were one of the first organizations to come to the rescue and were the first to appear at stations and at the border. We interact on an equal footing with state services, going out to calls and cooperate with law enforcement agencies (such as the Police, City Guard, Border Guard, Forest Guard), rescue services (such as the State Fire Service, State Medical Rescue, WOPR, GOPR, Volunteer Fire Brigades) and municipal units.
The SJRW has a qualified staff, which includes rescuers, doctors and veterinary technicians. We carry out tasks on the basis of applicable laws, regulations and provisions.
Crews, depending on their competence, are divided into:
– Animal Patrol SJRW, which carries veterinary assistance to harmed animals.
– SJRW Medical Emergency Team carrying direct medical assistance to those harmed by the conflict and taking care of the safety of those participating in demonstrations.
We provide medical and veterinary assistance to refugees.
We have organized 60 humanitarian convoys and medical evacuations in Ukraine and Poland, including Kramatorsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Ternopil and Lutsk.
