WHAT WE DO?

WE HELP REFUGEES FIND THEIR NEW PLACE ON EARTH IN POLAND

Our mission is to accompany, serve and support people with refugee experience and other people forced to resettle. We help them to recover physically and mentally, to get the education they need and thus to decide their future. The Jesuit Refugee Service Poland Foundation is the Polish branch of the international, Catholic organisation JRS International, founded in 1980 by Jesuit Father Pedro Arrupe SJ and now operating in 58 countries around the world. Refugees – we call them international friends – who come to our office can be sure that they will find a safe and friendly atmosphere, with the scent of warm tea and biscuits.

POLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING

We run Polish language courses, lectures and conversation classes. Thanks to them, our international friends learn how to find themselves independently in the Polish reality.

PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT

We support our visitors by offering psychological assistance. This is addressed to people who have experienced many traumas connected with war, violence or persecution (because of race, religion, nationality, political beliefs or membership of a particular social group).

YOUTH CLUB

We run a club for teenagers aged 16+ who socialise by spending free afternoons together on a weekly basis. We encourage young people – not just from incoming families – to get together for a variety of activities. This is a great opportunity to form good relationships and share their own passions.

INTEGRATION

We want to create an integrated community where everyone feels wanted and cared for. We organise events and activities that provide a place to get to know the visitors themselves, but which also help them to get to know our Polish culture.

LEGAL ASSISTANCE

We support with professional legal advice on issues of residence in Poland.
