The Wandering Women Foundation was founded in 2018 as a continuation of the joint activities of an informal group of women from Poland and forced migrants living in the Tricity. Our aim is self-help and self-organisation of migrant women and their families by:
o supporting the participation of immigrant and refugee women in public, economic and cultural life,
o breaking down barriers related to migrant women’s access to knowledge, public services and economic activities,
o counteracting gender discrimination and violence against women.
Our mission is to build communities that are open to diversity, where multiculturalism is a wealth and the synergy that comes from working together becomes a source of innovative ideas. Our actions are guided by the values of dignity, hope and respect.
In 2022, we undertook to continue the work of the Conflict Kitchen Foundation – we run a social enterprise, the Wandering Women restaurant, which provides a place of safe and dignified work for refugees whose opportunities on the open labour market are limited due to various forms of discrimination and unequal treatment of this vulnerable community.
